Small Machine
Small Machine is Demi Anter’s soaring debut, an intimate portrayal of young womanhood and coming of age in an unforgiving city, the capital known as much for raucous hedonism as it is for Kaffee-und-Kuchen. The covers of Small Machine interconnect, like a city viewed from above. we worked closely with Demi to bring to life a vibrant tapestry of light and shadow. This interplay of light and dark reflects the emotional terrain explored within the poetry. In the nighttime glow, bold lines intersect, capturing the contrasts of city life—the thrill of new encounters juxtaposed with quiet moments of introspection.

For the launch of Demi's debut poetry collection, we collaborated on special souvenirs to commemorate the occasion. An enamel pin and woven patch embody the essence of the cover design, offering a playful and unique way to celebrate the work.
“Every collaboration has been fruitful and a wonderful experience. I’ve had good experiences with a few designers, but Doing Me Doing You stands out because I get the sense that they really care about the end result. It’s not only about filling the brief, but making work that they feel proud of, too. That means interrogating the initial idea and never settling with “good enough. They went above and beyond with the design of my book cover, plus some other assets (bookmarks, social media content, badges) for the release of my book. The studio presented me with many incredible routes for the design, and we whittled away until we found the one that was just right. We were able to achieve an iconic book cover, which regularly gets positive comments from fans, booksellers and strangers. I could not be more happy with it!
